Bubbles (2021)
Blue pigment on canvas
40 x 50 cm

Bubbles (born April 30, 1983) lived with Michael Jackson’s on the Neverland Ranch until 2003. He slept in Jackson’s bedroom and appeared in television shows, movies, and music videos. Bubbles now lives in an ape sanctuary in Florida, where he enjoys quiet moments and painting. In this project Bubbles was provided Yves Klein Blue pigment, high quality brushes, a palette and a gessoed canvas. By giving Bubbles the right tools, as well as insight into the history of art production, he was able to develop this painting. No longer just a hobby, Bubbles’ work is elevated beyond the decorative and is placed within historical context and is presented as visual art. By offering Bubbles a new working method, he becomes part of the art world.
